I don’t have a daytime schedule I need to be keeping,
and the chance is good I don’t know tonight where I’m sleeping,
So I’ll play and sing with all the strength I can muster,
Being a street performing traveling busker.
It appeals to my desire for legalized gambling,
and when I make up my own words you won’t know I’m rambling,
I’ve got a good woman back home and I know I can trust her,
while I’m out being a street performing traveling busker.
The world’s second oldest profession,
somehow it became my obsession,
can’t wait can’t resist finding a new place to play.
It’s not a job it’s my vocation,
my favorite method of communication,
Can’t talk, can’t hardly walk, but I’ve got things to say.
One day maybe I’ll go and play inside.
No more frozen hands or frozen stares from passers-by.
Maybe I’ll get picked up for a movie that’ll be a blockbuster,
but for now I love being a street performing traveling busker.

I hit the floor running, every single day.
To put food on the table, there’s no time to play.
But if I had my ‘druthers,
I’d take a day off like the others.

Handstand - 2022 Update

I taught myself how to handstand,
because I couldn't learn to get with their plan, man.
Now I'm shining here up on the bandstand
because I finally learned how to handstand.
You know that I've found the ritual,
I had to stop before it became habitual.
It turned me into such a rugged individual
when I gave into the love of the ritual.
Getting high or laying low there's always something new to know.
You are me and I am you this is true.
Now I'm on the flight path,
because I couldn't learn to do the new math.
It turned me into some kind of psychopath,
so I'm taking off on the flight path.
Everybody's gotta learn to do their own thing.
Everybody finds out where they fit.
Each day a little higher, like walking through the fire,
you'll find you're stronger at the end of it.
I'm driving on in the fast lane,
sometimes I can't even remember my last name.
People tell me that I'm gonna go insane,
if I keep speeding in the fast lane.
